LifeSong
Song and earth kinship retreat
at Cae Mabon, Snowdonia
9th to 13th July 2025
Join us for a deeply nourishing sanctuary of shared singing, listening, creativity and collective care. It is for those who are engaged with climate and social justice and who would love time to deepen their heart resilience and nourish collective strength.
LifeSong is about growing collective resilience through shared song, creativity and care in urgent times. We will tend to our deep kinship with the land through creative activities and ceremony.
Change colours in themes
We will spend 5 days together (from Wednesday afternoon till Sunday lunchtime), with a rich and relaxed structure of group sharing, singing together, making art, creating ceremony and spending time alone and together in the beauty and wildness of this woodland paradise.
We invite you to take part in:
listening to the deep living songs of the land around us and finding our relationship with all of life
creative art and craft practices of earth kinship and connection
personal and collective ceremony
sharing, listening, creating a culture of collective care
time to rest, relax, do your own thing
co-creating unfolding impulses and ideas together, spontaneous enjoyment and deep holding.
going home with more friends than you started with!
There will also be plenty of time for swimming in the lake, watching the stars in the hot tub by the river, walking in the forest, dreaming with the trees, altars and waterfalls, lying in the sun or shade
singing harmony songs of earth care, grief, joy and strength of heart
About Cae Mabon
We are so lucky to have the whole eco-retreat centre at Cae Mabon for our private use. In an oak forest clearing… by a rushing river… near the lake… at the foot of Snowdon… tucked away across the lake from Llanberis, it is a magical space to recover and rejuvenate. At its heart is a thatched Celtic Roundhouse, an ancient place of fireside, story and song. Circling this hub-hearth is a family of seven traditionally built dwellings made from strawbales, cedar logs, cob, stone, thatch, turf, timber and hempcrete. . A renovated barn contains a fully equipped kitchen and a large room to eat and meet. There is a composting loo, washroom, thatched shower hut and luxurious wood-fired hot tub.
Accommodation is in shared with 2 to 4 people in each dwelling depending on numbers. There is limited room for camping if you need your own space, in your tent or campervan. All the buildings have electric light and sockets. The shower and kitchen have hot water. We will be living close to the earth with a lot of luxury!
Accessibility
The site at Cae Mabon is set on a hillside with uneven paths. The car park is several minutes walk uphill from the centre. On arrival and leaving day we will have help with our luggage with a landrover. Once in the retreat centre everything is pretty close together although you will need to be fairly mobile to be comfortable moving around the site. I am afraid that the site is not accessible to wheelchair users. Please ask about other needs and we will do our best to make it work for you.
