PARENTING FOR RESILIENCE IN A TIME OF CLIMATE CRISIS

A powerful and practical 90 minute online seminar

22nd July 7pm via zoom.

Whether our children become resilient or traumatised in the face of the climate crisis entirely depends on the support they have from adults around them.

This 90 minute online seminar will give you information and practical tools to parent your child for lifelong resilience.

Please note this seminar will be recorded and made available afterwards to those who have registered. You will also have the opportunity to ask questions in space that will be made for Q&A.

‘We cannot protect children from the impact of climate change, but we can protect them from being alone with it’

Jo McAndrews

Climate science is showing that this generation of children and young people will be facing unprecedented and unimaginable change and disruption in their lifetimes. In a world with severe social and environmental disruption, so many of us don’t know where to turn for the right support when we desperately want to care well for the children and young people we love. In this webinar, we will explore how to cultivate resilience in our children by prioritising warm, responsive relationships and addressing the challenges posed by climate change and the immense pressures of these ever more challenging times.

A PARENTING APPROACH FOR LIFELONG RESILIENCE

Climate psychology and neurobiology offer insights about the powerful role of emotions in growing resilience. We will learn how to stand alongside our young people to protect them from being alone with what they are experiencing. You can make a significant difference, empower yourself and your children and you are not alone in this work. Join a growing movement of informed, aware and active parents and educators.

WHO IS THIS FOR?

This webinar is for all adults who care for and about children and who would like to understand how to raise truly resilient children who are equipped to deal with the challenges they face.

Parents, youth workers, educators, foster carers, grandparents, uncles and aunts, mentors, mental health professionals…anyone who cares about the wellbeing of children and young people, this is for you.

Whether you are already aware of climate change or just starting to engage with it you are welcome.
